3M™ introduces the innovative Peltor™ COMTAC™ 4 Hybrid Headset for today’s modern war fighter. The 4th generation headset continues the legacy and tradition of trusted hearing protector headsets from 3M’s Peltor brand. The hybrid approach addresses customer demand for in-ear hearing protection while retaining the advantages of the traditional architecture of an over-the-ear style hearing protector, such as:

· Headset electronics which are contained completely inside the headset housing, eliminating the need for a large, heavy external radio control box
· A headband which mechanically stabilizes the headset to help relieve issues of earplugs dislodging from cable snags and body movement
· Backwards compatible interface: COMTAC 4 Headsets are interchangeable with previous versions of Peltor COMTAC headsets and pre-existing PTT Adapters
· Same operation as current Peltor COMTAC Headsets
· No software loads or outside power required, complete self-contained headset with power fail safe
